What’s it about?

Eating Disorder Awareness Week (EDAW) is an annual, international event, aimed at raising awareness of all things eating disorders.

It typically takes place during the last week of February each year. EDAW aims to put the spotlight on the seriousness of eating disorders, and improve the understanding of the public on the myths, causes, triggers, and treatments.

EDAW spotlights the need for adequate professionals resources to be made available to the thousands suffering from eating disorders in Ireland.

EDAW also works to remind people that hope of full recovery is possible as long as the right professional treatment is made available to the person suffering from the eating disorder. The need for carer’s support is also highlighted.
